PowerCoders is a social initiative offering digital training. Created in response to the 2015 crisis, with the goal of promoting equal job opportunities for displaced IT industry professionals, it aims to foster IT job integration programmes for refugees and migrants in Turin and Milan.

The National Youth Programme of Danish NGO Mellemfolkeligt Samvirke (MS) - part of the ActionAid federation - empowers youth from disadvantaged areas via the “Stronger Together” initiative. It fosters active citizenship, democratic participation and local youth-led change.

The Bridges of Belonging project, implemented by Estonian NGO Mondo in partnership with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), aimed to support refugee integration in Estonia through art therapy, language education, and community engagement.

The Migrantech platform, a European project based in France, was developed during the first COVID-19 confinement period, in March 2020, to support migrants and refugees in using face-to-face digital tools and to help them back into employment, by developing digital and other transferable skills.

The Landsorganisationen i Sverige (LO-Sweden), or the Swedish Trade Union Confederation, member of the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC), created a model for labour agreements to facilitate the newly arrived migrants’ entry into the labour market and obtain training.

The project set out to support the socioeconomic reintegration of Moroccan women who do seasonal agricultural work. The project's end goal was to equip Moroccan seasonal workers in Spain with the skills and knowledge needed to become economically autonomous entrepreneurs.

This initiative uses football as a tool to foster integration, emotional well-being, and community cohesion among refugees and migrants. The project is supported by local municipalities, NGOs, and private foundations such as Fundación LaLiga and Fundación Real Betis.

In 2024, IOM Romania and BCR Social Finance launched an innovative grant programme to support small businesses owned by displaced people from Ukraine or Romanian-owned businesses employing those displaced from Ukraine. The programme provided financial support to entrepreneurs from several cities.

The project operates via a nation-wide network, built by local volunteers. It offers people who are refugees a “friend” in their local neighbourhood to support them with integration into Danish society. Some participants are refugee newcomers, while others have been in the country for many years.

Integreat

Integreat is a free digital platform providing multilingual local information for newcomers to Germany. Municipalities manage and update content, which can be accessed via an app or website. The platform enhances participation and reduces the burden on advisory structures.

The project offers housing to homeless people suffering from mental health issues and/or addictions, many of whom are third-country nationals. It was first introduced in 2013, under the impetus of the Second federal plan to combat poverty (2012).

In collaboration with UNHCR Croatia, the Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) implemented the "Empowerment for Employment" project from March to December 2023. The project offered language courses, workshops, webinars and professional training to refugee women living in Zagreb.
