The project aims to support children, adolescents, and young adults in their schooling and acquisition of national languages, while also assisting parents with parenting and language integration.

It promotes the social inclusion of families through recreational and leisure activities and extends support to selected unaccompanied minors (UAMs) as part of the programme.

Who benefits:

The project benefits families seeking international protection accommodated in reception facilities, including children, adolescents, and young adults, as well as their parents. It also includes certain unaccompanied minors (UAMs) within its support activities.

How it works:

The project provides weekly support for children and young people through homework assistance and language learning activities. Parents are supported through language classes and practical training to strengthen their linguistic and parenting skills. In addition, regular recreational activities are organised to promote social interaction and strengthen family integration.

Results

The project contributes to improved language skills among participants, stronger school integration for children and young people, and the strengthening of family relationships and broader social bonds.

Evaluation:

Activities are evaluated internally through participant satisfaction questionnaires and by observing the academic progress of children and youth involved in the school support activities.

Funding and resources:

The initiative is funded by the European Commission’s AMIF programme and Luxembourg’s Ministry of Family.
