GIP, 2026 Newly arrived migrants in France often experience a downgrading of their socio-professional status, while companies, for their part, have difficulty recruiting people with certain specific skills. The Experience Without Borders project provides enhanced support tailored to each participant’s individual needs, allowing them to develop their professional and transferable skills, including, where necessary, French as a foreign language and/or VAE (Validation of Acquired Experience). This recognition of skills acquired prior to their arrival in France facilitates participant’s professional integration and combats feelings of social decline. The ultimate goal is professional integration and better (social) inclusion of migrants and refugees. Who benefitsNewcomers and refugees who have professional experience gained mainly abroad, regardless of sector and level - including one year that can be proven by official documents (pay slips, employer statements, etc.) - and who have reached language proficiency level A2. How it worksThis project, led by the Ministry of the Interior and co-financed by the European Union, is being rolled out across France. The approach comprises the following steps: Participant attends an information meeting and undergoes a feasibility interviewStudy of the experience acquired abroadDefinition of the beneficiary's professional project, valuation of acquired skills, VAE process for some, where neededParticipant finalises their career path In addition to this individual support, collective thematic workshops are also organised. Further information can be viewed online. FundingThe project has received funding from the European Union, via AMIF, and from the Ministère de l’Intérieur - Direction de l’Intégration et de l’Accès à la Nationalité (DIAN). The results achieved in terms of skills validation and language training courses were deemed satisfactory, prompting the funding bodies (DIAN and AMIF) to request its renewal for the period 2025–2027.
