On 27-28 November 2025, the EU Knowledge Hub on Prevention of Radicalisation organised in Brussels the third Strategic Communications training on Digital P/CVE for 25 first-line practitioners from different EU Member States.

The Strategic Communications Meeting on 26 November brought together EU institutions, Member States, international organisations, civil society, academia, and private-sector experts to discuss how strategic communications can better address evolving challenges in the prevention of extremism.

In line with the Strategic Orientations on an EU coordinated approach to prevention of radicalization, the work of TP3 in 2026 will focus on the rapidly evolving role of online environments and new technologies in shaping extremist narratives, recruitment strategies and hybrid threats.

Thematic Panel 1 addresses the increasingly complex and diverse extremist landscape in Europe, where radicalisation processes are evolving beyond traditional ideological boundaries.

Radicalisation processes are increasingly evolving beyond traditional ideological boundaries, and a particular concern is the emergence of fragmented, hybrid, or mixed ideologies and their role in fuelling radicalisation, especially among vulnerable young people.

TP6’s mandate is to support policy and practitioner communities working on the management of returning FTFs and their families, with a thematic focus on operationally grounded approaches to case management, risk/threat assessment, multi-agency coordination, and reintegration.

In 2025, during its four meetings Thematic Panel 4 explored the impact of extremism and polarisation at local level with a focus on youth and online dynamics and ideas on strengthening community resilience-building.

Thematic Panel 7 (TP7) on Global and Geopolitical Factors and Undesirable Foreign Influences examines how external crises, foreign interference and transnational networks shape radicalisation, violent extremism and terrorism risks in the EU.

The Strategic Orientations on a Coordinated EU Approach to Prevention of Radicalisation for 2024-2025 emphasise the importance of a strategy that is as comprehensive in its reach as cross-sectoral in its approach.
