Description

The Swedish government's Migration Studies Delegation (Delmi) - an independent committee that launches studies and conducts research in the field of migration - published a new policy brief about public opinions towards integration.

The policy brief, which is available in English, examines how individuals living in medium- and small-sized towns in Sweden perceive the integration of refugees from non-European countries and Ukraine, who they believe is responsible for integration, and their personal relationships with newly arrived refugees. It compares attitudes in Sweden with those in Austria, Germany, and Italy.

Key conclusions and recommendations outlined in the policy brief highlight the importance of countering misinformation, addressing racism and discrimination, and fostering relations between refugees and local residents.
