Open call for expression of interest - 8th European Migration Forum, 4-5 December 2023

EMF Migrants in Europe today

The European Commission and the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) are launching an open call for civil society organisations interested in participating in the 8th European Migration Forum, which will take place on the 4th and 5th of December 2023, in the EESC headquarters (Jacques Delors building, Rue Belliard/Belliardstraat 99-101, 1040, Brussels).

Under the overarching theme, ‘Migrants in Europe today: specific needs, skills and communication for stronger inclusion,' the Forum’s 8th edition will be addressing how to identify and support migrants and refugees with specific needs; examine public attitudes and communication on migration and inclusion, as well as look at sustainable labour market integration.

The open call aims to select the participants of the upcoming Forum, by identifying organisations working on these topics whose expertise can bring added value to the European debate on migration.

The format of the event

The European Migration Forum is a platform destined for dialogue between civil society and European institutions on issues related to migration, asylum, and migrant integration.

As in its previous editions, the Forum’s 8th meeting will seek to ensure an interactive and participatory approach from participants and EU policymakers alike. The core of the event will consist of roundtable discussions, working groups, and panel discussions. There will also be a 'Networking Village', where some participants will be able to present their projects or good practice.

The Forum’s working language will be English.

How to apply

The call for interest is open until the 14 September 2023. Please note that late applications will not be considered.

Organisations will be selected based on the relevance of their activities and expertise to the topic of the meeting. Moreover, the selection procedure will ensure a balanced geographical representation of the participants, as well as the diversity of fields of expertise, activities and types of organisations.

A maximum of 120 civil society organisations will be selected.

To apply, fill in this online application form.
