Informal ministerial dialogue on integration and social cohesion organised by the German Presidency

Commissioner for Home Affairs Ylva Johansson participated today in a virtual informal ministerial dialogue on integration and inclusion hosted by the German Federal Minister of interior. Commissioner Johansson set out the Commission’s ideas and orientations in the area of integration and inclusion, ahead of the forthcoming publication of the Action Plan on integration and inclusion. This informal ministerial meeting provided a good opportunity to discuss how integration policies can be part of a broader effort to foster social inclusion and build resilient and cohesive societies. Member States representatives also exchanged views on the main priority areas for future EU integration and inclusion policies, on the role of EU Funds to support national efforts on integration and inclusion and on the key role played by multi-stakeholder partnerships in the integration process. The meeting paves the way to the preparation of the Commission Action Plan on Integration and Inclusion to be adopted on 24 November 2020.
