Commissioner for Home Affairs and Migration, Ylva Johansson, visited Berlin (21 February) and Warsaw (26 February). In Berlin, Commissioner Johansson discussed the new Pact on Migration and Asylum in the Bundestag EU committee, alongside German Minister of the Interior, Nancy Faeser. Their exchanges will help prepare the implementation stage of the new set of rules that will manage migration and asylum at EU level. In Warsaw, Commissioner Johansson met with the Polish Minister of the Interior, Marcin Kierwinski, to discuss the EU’s continued support for Poland in hosting refugees who are fleeing the war in Ukraine.
