Behind the scenes of organised crime with the Europol Podcast

The image displays the title of Eurpol's podcast - Targeting dark finances

In its latest podcast, “Targeting Dark Finances”, Europol sheds light on the intricate world of financial and economic crime. The European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation takes the audience behind the scenes of a massive international fraud investigation and reveals the subtleties of asset recovery, the practice of finding and seizing cash and assets gained through criminal activity.

The case is led by the French Gendarmerie, in close cooperation with Europol, and involves a high-profile fugitive from Ukraine, who lives near Dijon in France and is thought to be behind a case of international fraud and money laundering. The successful operation resulted in seizures of over EUR 4.6 million, including a castle, a vintage Rolls Royce Phantom, and three works of art by Salvador Dali.
