Tomorrow the Commission and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) will host a joint webinar to discuss firearms trafficking in the world with focus on Europe and to present research findings and policy responses.
The webinar will present:
- The main findings, conclusions and policy implications of the UNODC Global Study on Firearms Trafficking 2020;
- The regional analysis on Illicit Trafficking in Firearms, their Parts, Components and Ammunition to, from and across the European Union, prepared by UNODC in cooperation with the Flemish Peace Institute;
- The EU Action Plan on Firearms Trafficking.
Presenters and panellists include representatives from the European Union and UNODC as well as from Europol, EMPACT Firearms, INTERPOL, the South Eastern and Eastern Europe Clearinghouse for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons (SEESAC), national and international experts, and representatives from Civil Society Organizations.
