Note(s)
1. The EUTF for Africa was formally adopted at the Valletta Summit on 12 November 2015 by EU Member States, CH, NO and 23 African countries (the Sahel region and Lake Chad, the Horn of Africa and the North of Africa).
2. It focuses on the following areas:
a) economic programs with particular attention to employment creation;
b) resilience projects geared to improving food security and to providing services for local communities and refugees;
c) migration management, including fight against irregular migration and smuggling of migrants, return, readmission and reintegration, international protection and asylum, legal migration and mobility;
d) governance and security, including interventions in the fields of rule of law, security and development, border management and conflict-prevention systems.
