Context
In 2021, the Radicalisation Awareness Network (RAN) started activities in the Western Balkans, commissioned by DG NEAR. RAN Practitioners and RAN Policy Support have made efforts to contribute to preventing and countering violent extremism (P/CVE) in the area.
RAN Practitioners has organised meetings, trainings, and study visits and has produced RAN papers in the WB on several topics related to P/CVE. Now that the first project period of RAN Practitioners is coming to an end, it is time to discuss the main takeaways as well as the challenges ahead.
Three themes/fields have been discussed during several meetings:
- Violent right-wing extremism
- Returnees and their families
- Multi-agency/cooperation of state institutions and CSOs
The webinar will be structured around short presentations on these themes and will include Q & A sessions. The audience will have the opportunity to ask questions via the chat.
Interpretation will be provided. Available languages: Albanian, BCMS, English, and Macedonian.
Target audience
All those interested in P/CVE in the Western Balkans are welcome. As RAN Practitioners professionals working on the ground are a primary target group, this will be the main angle from which we will approach the topics during the webinar. However, experts and policy makers are welcome to attend as well.
