RSSFor the RAN Practitioners C&N Working Group meeting on ‘AI: understanding and opportunities for P/CVE practitioners’, we are looking for first-line practitioners and (academic) experts who are interested in participating in the meeting.
In this edition of the RAN Practitioners Update we take a look at some the gender-related challenges facing practitioners. The Update also features a new segment, ‘Projects’, which highlights some good practices of projects, campaigns and interventions delivered by members of the network.
The webinar will be kicked off by Eviane Leidig, who has conducted research into women and the lure of ‘sisterhood’ in right-wing extremism. This will be followed by a panel discussion with practitioners on PVE work for girls.
This edition of the RAN Practitioners Spotlight magazine therefore takes a look at some of these gender-related challenges, including trauma in men and boys, youth and masculinity, and incel propaganda, gender-related hate speech and misogyny.
The webinar will provide an overview of the main lessons learned and recommendations from the RAN Mental Health Working Group meeting on 28-29 March and the cross-cutting event on 28 November on enhancing collaboration between the mental health sector and the security domain.

The main purpose of the event was to set the agenda for the year ahead. In this Special Edition of the RAN Practitioners Update therefore, we take a brief look at some of what was discussed at the event.
We are currently inviting practitioners, researchers, or policymakers from the mental health and/or security domain who encounter the issues mentioned above in their work and wish to discuss the abovementioned topics, to respond to this call.
We are looking for participants that are interested in joining the upcoming meeting of the RAN Victims/Survivors of Terrorism Working Group: ‘Prevention of secondary traumatisation arising from P/CVE efforts.’
