Description

The third meeting of Thematic Panel 7 –Diasporas at Risk: Foreign Influence, Hybridised Extremisms & Youth Safeguarding–, was held in Brussels on 6–7 October 2025. This pivotal gathering united policymakers, practitioners, and researchers to assess the complex ways in which external influence, transnational repression, and converging extremist ideologies impact diaspora communities and youth across Europe. The meeting achieved a deeper, collective understanding of the crucial intersection between global geopolitical crises and local risks of radicalisation and social polarisation. Discussions underscored the integral link between foreign policy, information security, and counter-extremism efforts. Participants emphasised that true societal resilience depends on rights-based, coordinated action to defend democracy and protect vulnerable groups from manipulation and extremism.
