Wirtschaftskammer Österreich (WKÖ) publishes the Refugee Talents 2023 guide for employers

The Wirtschaftskammer Österreich (WKÖ), or Federal Economic Chamber, member of SME United, is supporting employers in recruiting, onboarding and employing refugee employees.

Among other initiatives, the WKÖ published Refugee Talents 2023 – a guide for employers, written by researchers at the Vienna University of Economics and Business, and based on international scientific studies. The publication makes the point that labor shortage will continue to gain momentum due to demographic trends, which in turn makes it all the more important to utilise the entire workforce potential and focus on groups of people who currently underrepresented in the labor market. It also argues that employing refugees brings many benefits, including increasing operational innovation and entrepreneurship, acquiring loyal employees, and leading to the increased tax revenue of a country.

On a more practical level, the publication provides useful but often-overlooked facts, argues in favour of the employment of refugees, and provides practical tips for employers, as well as for the recruitment, onboarding and everyday support, including through good practices.
