©Jobs for Ukraine, 2026 One of the main challenges for people displaced from Ukraine in Romania is accessing employment while dealing with language barriers, lack of local networks, and unfamiliar labour market regulations. Employers, on the other hand, may struggle to connect with qualified candidates from the refugee communities. Jobs for Ukraine, delivered by Asociatia Proiect Voiajor, addresses this gap by facilitating direct connections between job seeking people displaced from Ukraine and employers. In this way the project aims to support the socio-economic integration of people displaced from Ukraine by helping them regain financial stability through employment. It operates through a free digital platform where job seekers displaced from Ukraine can create profiles, upload their CVs or generate new ones, and search for relevant job opportunities. Employers can post vacancies and connect directly with candidates whose skills match their needs. The project staff evaluates periodically the workforce needs of existing employers and work to attract new ones on the platform. In addition, the project provides support to people displaced from Ukraine through career counselling, training programmes, language courses and curated resources and information on working and living abroad. This combination of digital tools and human support helps candidates navigate the hiring process effectively and adapt to new labour markets. The project employs a Ukrainian language speaker whose role is to liaise with the refugee community via Telegram. This person identifies the needs and guides the project beneficiaries through the available services. The main component is the online platform that provides information in Romanian, English and Ukrainian and connects job seekers with employers willing to hire them. In addition to job listings, Jobs for Ukraine offers tailored support to job seekers. Through partnerships with stakeholders such as United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Romania and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the Asociatia Proiect Voiajor - via the platform - provides face to face career counselling, professional guidance, skills assessment and support for writing a resumé, access to Romanian and English language classes, as well as access to training opportunities and events (such as job fairs). The Jobs for Ukraine platform was integrated as a stand-alone employment solution on DOPOMOHA.RO, which provides integrated online information and support to people displaced from Ukraine in Romania. Since its launch in 2022, the platform has seen the creation of over 20 000 candidates’ accounts and over 2 700 employers' accounts, and over 9 000 vacancies have been posted. Over 3 000 people displaced from Ukraine have accessed the additional employment support available, such as counselling sessions. EvaluationThe project’s impact has so far primarily been evaluated through platform data such as the number of registered job seekers, participating employers, job postings and employer-employee matches. An external evaluation has not yet been published. Additional internal feedback is collected from both candidates and employers through testimonials, surveys, counselling sessions and community engagement. In 2025, the project was awarded First Prize at the Civil Society Gala in the category of economic and social development. Funding and resourcesThe digital platform is powered by Jobful, which provides the technological infrastructure behind the project. The initiative has also benefited from the support of organisations such as UNHCR Romania, EBRD, the Mastercard Center for Inclusive Growth and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Romania.
