Poland
The Polish National Contact Point to the European Migration Network (PL NCP EMN), established in 2008, is located within the Department for Analyses and Migration Policy of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration (the entity responsible for general coordination of migration policy of Poland and for international cooperation in this field). The Polish NCP consists of experts not only from the Ministry of the Interior and Administration but also experts from the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy, the Office for Foreigners, the National Border Guard Headquarters and the Central Statistical Office. Experts support the EMN activities in Poland inter alia by providing necessary data and information required for the elaboration of EMN outputs. This collaboration of government professionals with strong expertise in multiple aspects of migration and asylum facilitates access to information on the most current developments and policy directions as well as provides a more diversified perspective on migration challenges.
PL EMN NCP established a National Migration Network consisting of a wide range of national stakeholders in the area of migration and asylum which also aims at contributing to its research activities. National network consists of inter alia researchers, academics, government officials, civil servants and representatives of non-governmental organizations serving migrant communities. Each year the Polish EMN NCP hosts conference devoted to various cutting-edge migration-related topics, most frequently associated with EMN studies. The conferences are convened to bring together national and international experts to share experiences, views and exchange good practices and are always well-attended.
