Interim evaluation of the implementation of the Internal Security Fund (ISF) 2014-2020

Date of roadmap: 11/04/2017

The Internal Security Fund (ISF) is established for the period 2014 to 2020. The Fund promotes the implementation of the Internal Security Strategy, law enforcement cooperation and the management of the Union's external borders. The ISF is composed of two instruments, ISF Borders and Visa and ISF Police. The main objective of the Fund is to ensure a high level of security within an area of freedom, security and justice.

The interim evaluation of the ISF will look at the progress made in the implementation of the programme, and assess whether corrective actions are needed to make sure that the programme delivers as planned. It will also contribute to the preparation of the next generation of funding instruments as part of the multiannual financial framework post-2020.
