RSSOn 14 March, the European Parliament and the Council reached a provisional political agreement on the Commission's proposal to update the Regulation on import, export and transit of firearms for civilian use. The revised rules will enhance security and address firearms trafficking.

Commissioner for Home Affairs, Ylva Johansson, and Commissioner for Justice, Didier Reynders, attended the Justice and Home Affairs Council held on 4 - 5 March in Brussels.
Commissioner Johansson was in Berlin on 21 February and Warsaw on 26 February. In Berlin, she discussed the new Pact on Migration and Asylum in the Bundestag EU committee, and in Warsaw, she met with the Polish Minister of the Interior to discuss the EU’s support for Poland in hosting refugees.
The aim of this meeting is to provide guidelines for practitioners on dealing with borderline content while (re)building public trust in their P/CVE work.
The Commission welcomes today's political agreement between the European Parliament and the Council on the two Regulations on Advanced Passenger Information (API). These Regulations upgrade the EU’s legislative framework, while strengthening security and facilitating border management in the EU.
