Gender often plays a significant role in preventing and countering violent extremism (P/CVE), whether that be gender-based approaches deployed by violent extremists to radicalise and recruit, gender-specific vulnerabilities, gender-related issues, such as gender identity, the role of mothers in prevention or gender-based rehabilitation and reintegration approaches.
