Welcome to the 18th edition of the EU Knowledge Hub on Prevention of Radicalisation newsletter.

As the Hub enters its summer pause, June 2026 has marked one of the most active and productive periods of the year for our network. Across Europe, policymakers, practitioners, and researchers have gathered to address the growing complexity of the prevention landscape.

This edition highlights a comprehensive array of recent Hub initiatives. We explore the disinformation–extremism nexus in the Western Balkans, multidisciplinary approaches to the rehabilitation of foreign terrorist fighters, and the critical role of youth safeguarding within online gaming ecosystems. Furthermore, we outline key discussions from our recent Exchange Conference, which focused on shaping the future Strategic Orientations for the prevention of radicalisation across Member States.

Alongside updates from our Thematic Panels, this issue features valuable expert insights on managing mental health in lone-actor threat assessments, addressing extreme violence in schools, and counter-narrative strategies in sports. We invite you to explore these latest updates, collection of conclusion papers, and practitioner-led resources designed to support your frontline work.

Thank you for your continued dedication to building safer and more resilient communities across Europe. Enjoy the reading.
