The Commission has launched a call for expression of interest under a specific Action of the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF) which will allow Member States to support Local and Regional Authorities (LRAs) in implementing integration measures for third-country nationals. With an indicative budget of EUR 77 million, this initiative aims to strengthen the role of LRAs in delivering essential services and fostering inclusive communities while addressing broader migration challenges.

Each national AMIF Managing Authority is in charge of selecting projects for submission to the Commission. Therefore, Local and Regional Authorities (LRAs) should contact them and follow their selection process to propose integration projects.

 Objectives of the Specific Action

The call aims to address local integration challenges through two key objectives:

1.  Integrated service delivery – Funding cross-sector initiatives (e.g., one-stop-shop models) to bridge gaps in healthcare, education, employment, and psychosocial support, particularly in underserved areas. Projects may include integration centres and one-stop-shop models offering documentation assistance, language courses, career guidance, and housing advice in a single location.

2.  Housing solutions – Piloting new approaches to improve access to safe, dignified housing, including for vulnerable groups (e.g., unaccompanied minors, individuals with special needs). Examples of possible projects can include: modular housing with linked implementation strategies; co-living and mixed-community housing (open to both EU citizens and third-country nationals); Housing First" models and integrated service hubs (e.g., transport, healthcare, childcare) to support long-term inclusion.

 Application and eligibility

  • Member States (via their Managing Authorities) may submit one application with a maximum of two project proposals.
  • Eligible beneficiaries include cities, municipalities, regional authorities, and local agencies.
  • Partnerships with civil society and migrant-led organisations are strongly encouraged

 Funding

  • Minimum request per project: €800 000
  • Maximum request per project: €7.5 million
  • EU co-financing rate: Up to 90% (higher than the standard 75% under AMIF programmes).
  • Activities must align with the AMIF Regulation, EU integration policies, including the Action Plan on Integration and Inclusion 2021-2027 and the Pact on Migration and Asylum

 How to Apply?

Specific Actions under AMIF are targeted funding opportunities that allow Member States to receive additional EU resources beyond their standard national allocations.

AMIF Managing authorities are invited to submit their applications by 2 October 2026.

The European Commission encourages Local and Regional Authorities (LRAs) to contact their national AMIF Managing Authorities to express interest in this call and ensure their integration projects are included in their Member State’s submission.  Check here the List of Managing Authorities
