The European Commission has launched a call for proposals under the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF) to prevent irregular migration through awareness-raising and information campaigns on the risks of irregular migration in selected third countries and within Europe. The call aims to provide reliable information on the dangers of irregular migration, available legal pathways to Europe and alternative economic opportunities in third countries of origin and transit, to counter the false narrative promoted by migrant smugglers. The available budget is EUR 10 million.
The call for proposals is open to public and private entities (non-profit) and international organisations who must form consortia. The European Commission encourages proposals that include applicants with a track record in the policy area and experience in working with local partners.
