On 18 June, the EU Anti-Trafficking Coordinator, Diane Schmitt, and the Inter-Agency Coordination Group against Trafficking in Persons (ICAT), which was mandated by the UN General Assembly, discussed emerging trends, challenges, and priorities in a meeting aimed at improving coordination among UN agencies and other international organisations to combat human trafficking.Main topics included trends on trafficking in human beings, especially in and from Latin America, as well as the link between the revised EU Anti-Trafficking Directive and the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum. The victims from Latin America are among the key trends observed in the European Union.
