Every Chief Officer (CO) has a specific Number of Inmates (between 6-8) which they are responsible for, so the total Amount of Inmates is divided between the COs. In that way, every inmate has a continuous CO for their needs. In best case, the CO is able to build a good level of trust with the inmate, which is essential for good dynamic security practice. If the CO is off duty for a long period of time, another CO is taking over for that time as replacement, what guarantees good quality practice between inmates and the COs. The CPS gives the CO opportunities to have a closer look at the inmate. It is not uncommon for inmates to report small changes in others’ behavior (for example, a sign of radicalisation). These reports are being assessed by relevant staff members. This level of trust allows the COs a better understanding of other prisoners as well. Another part of CPS is reports written by the CO (such as court report, imprisonment plan, release plan, Inmate’s development etc.) The responsible CO will be invited to participate in risk assessment meetings. Altogether, the programme allows and promotes constant contact between the CO and inmate. Deliverables No public deliverables. The CO reports are for internal prison use.Training materials are available.
