The European Migration Network (EMN) is an EU network of migration and asylum experts who work together to provide objective, comparable policy-relevant information and knowledge on emerging issues relating to asylum and migration in Europe.
The EMN was established in 2008 (Council Decision 2008/381/EC) and amended by Regulation (EU) No 516/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council in April 2014. The Directorate-General for Migration and Home Affairs of the European Commission coordinates the EMN.
Information for Ukrainian nationals
On the 4 March 2022, the Council adopted the implementing decision introducing temporary protection due to mass influx of persons fleeing Ukraine as a consequence of the war.
Temporary protection is an exceptional measure to provide immediate and temporary protection to displaced persons from non-EU countries and those unable to return to their country of origin.

Discover the Destination Europe tool
Destination Europe is an engaging discussion interactive platform that introduces users to migration and integration decision-making. Users take up roles of various actors involved at the EU, national and city level and immerse themselves in different future scenarios about migration. These interactive scenarios are based on evidence and illustrate potential outcomes of migration policy decisions for different groups of migrants such as asylum seekers, labour and irregular migrants and citizens of EU countries where migrants settle. The tool illustrates real-life impacts policy decisions can have on various categories of migrants and the public in the countries that receive them. It was developed by migration experts from various European countries in the European Migration Network.

Serbia becomes Observer Country to the European Migration Network
The European Commission and the Commission for Refugees of Serbia signed an Administrative Arrangement to collaborate in the European Migration Network, and make Serbia an Observer Country in the network.
