Note(s)

1. The Regulation lays down the conditions under which EU Member States' designated authorities and Europol may consult data stored in the ETIAS Central System for the purposes of the prevention, detection and investigation of terrorist offences or of other serious criminal offences falling under their competence.

2. ETIAS is managed by the European Agency for the Operational Management of Large-Scale Information Systems in the area of freedom, security and justice (eu-LISA). The central unit is part of the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (Frontex) and ensures that the data stored in the application files and the data recorded in ETIAS are correct and up to date.
