Description:

This report analyses the implementation of prevention and deradicalisation projects within prison and probation settings under the ‘Living democracy!’ programme. Based on qualitative and ethnographic research, it examines how the prison environment shapes (and often constrains) social-pedagogical interventions, highlighting structural challenges such as institutional control, power asymmetries, and limited influence over detainees’ daily realities. The report also identifies key practices, tensions, and enabling factors for effective interventions, and provides recommendations to strengthen prevention work and cooperation within custodial contexts.
