Description
This article examines the concepts of mainstreaming and normalisation of the far right, distinguishing how mainstream political parties contribute to the legitimisation of far-right actors, ideas, and rhetoric. It proposes a conceptual framework to clarify these processes and identifies avenues for future research on how mainstream political dynamics facilitate the acceptance of far-right positions in democratic societies.
