Aspects of radicalisation processes. Case-based studies.

Description

This anthology examines the role of religion in the radicalisation processes of young people. Public discourse often claims that young Muslims are particularly susceptible to religiously motivated radicalisation. The volume discusses the role of “religion as a factor in radicalisation” in three ways: The first part presents a critical discussion of the terms religion and radicalisation. The second part follows with empirical case studies on social media channels of a youth Salafist group. The third part concludes with comparative studies on the role of Islamist visual media on Facebook and on radicalisation prevention in correctional facilities.
