Description
This article examines how counterterrorism and counter-extremism policies in Northern Europe have reshaped Islamophobia from overt acts of violence to more chronic forms of structural and institutional exclusion. Drawing on interviews and focus groups with young Muslims in the UK, the Netherlands, Denmark, and Norway, it explores how preventive security measures contribute to the securitisation and racialisation of Muslim communities, while highlighting the strategies young Muslims develop to navigate, resist, and mitigate these experiences of social exclusion.
