Description:

The 2017 Report on the Protection of the Constitution was presented to the public on 24 July 2018 by Federal Minister of the Interior Horst Seehofer and President of the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution, Dr Hans-Georg Maaßen.

The report provides information on the nature and extent of activities hostile to the constitution, as well as on organisations and groups that oppose the free democratic basic order. It also covers espionage activities against Germany and issues related to proliferation. Individual developments are analysed and assessed in terms of their ideological and strategic dimensions, particularly in the chapters “Trends in Development” and “Threat Potential.”

For improved readability, the 2017 report includes overviews with data and facts on individual organisations and groups directly following the thematic sections.

The report makes an important contribution to raising awareness of the scale of threats facing the state and society.
