Within the context of the priorities set by the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the EU, high-level policymakers involved in the design and implementation of regular migration pathways as well as technical experts to discuss crucial questions on legal migration to the European Union. Effective labour migration policy can provide solutions to ageing demographics and skills shortages, as well as support the transition to digital and green economies. The event is taking place one year and a half after the adoption of the Skills and Talent Package, and shortly after the adoption of the EU Talent Pool legislative proposal, making this topic particularly timely and useful to engage in discussion on how future policy will be shaped at EU and national level.
